Dial Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash

Good morning everyone, and Happy Holidays! We are having a great little time here ourselves and the house is decorated for the holidays- right down to the bathrooms! Yep, you heard me, the holiday spirit is in my bathroom. A few weeks ago I received two full-size samples of Dial Holiday Liquid Foaming Hand Wash with cute festive designs on them. I was super excited to be able to use these soaps and review them on SaMiE Designs.

The Festive Designs
I am a busy working mother, and lately I have felt lucky to even remember getting the tree, presents, and stockings ready. Household decor was certainly not my prime worry. Don't get me wrong- I'd love to be the type that always has the halls decking- but that's just not in the cards in this moment in time. So what a neat idea to be able to purchase a household necessity and have a festive design on it. It makes you feel like the ultimate mom, party host, and superwoman. It's one step away from saying, "It's a good thing."

Add caption
Enough about the aesthetics, how well does it work? Just like any Dial product that you already use and trust.  #1 Doctor recommended antibacterial foaming wash, this hand soap kills 99.99% of germs encountered, with a fresh scent and leaves your hands feeling silky smooth.

Kids love it too! If they are the type who you have to constantly remind to wash their hands, grab a foaming hand wash! They'll love washing their hands! They also love the designs! Not into Christmas designs? They also have Hello Kitty designs, and there will probably be more designs in the future. From 1 to 92, I guarantee you all will enjoy this great product. What I've been up to...

You may remember that I have said I was quite busy over the summer and into the fall, and that is true, I have. I've also been doing quite a bit of thinking about SaMiE Designs during this time. I'd like to share both of those with you, SaMiE Designs fans.

First, let me tell you what I've been doing that kept me so busy. One thing that has basically been my life is roller derby. I started skated in the beginning of 2012 and I haven't stopped since. I am the co-head of sponsorship, board member, and skater for the Jackson Hole Juggernauts. So when I say derby was my life I mean...derby WAS my life.  2012 was our first season, and we are already gearing up for our second season, bigger and better. To the left is a photo taken from our last intra-league bout of the season. (I am the one in the first row on the right with the green helmet and black stripe, in case you were wondering. :) )

Photo: Scott Wood
Here's another picture of me skating. If you click on the photo, it will take you to the picture on a facebook page. If you click 'like' on it, it will help me to win a scholarship to pay for my derby dues for an entire year! Would love the help in getting a great financial relief!

For the first bout, which occured between Mr. E's birthday and Stink's birthday, my mom and neice flew in from North Carolina. So while getting ready for our first bout (both skating and business wise) and planning birthdays, I also prepared for my family's arrival. Since it was my mom's first time in Jackson Hole, Wyoming during the summer, we did many touristy but fun activities. Below is a picture of when we rode horses up Snow King. It was beyond fun to be able to do all these things with my family. My mom said it was her dream to be able to ride horses with her children and their children, we were a little over half way there!

Also, during all this I was taking classes at the local community college. After switching majors once or twice, I have decided to finish my degree in marketing. I was able to get some experience at a previous job I held, and realized I had a natural knack for it and wanted to pursue it as a career. Each semester I take usually 3 classes towards this goal. I have been doing very well in college, and keeping my grades up (I get mad if they're anything lower than an A+) is sometimes challenging with the other obligations and responsibilities in my life.

Moving into fall. Stink, who turned 5 over the summer, entered Kindergarten. She's a little mini-me if ever there were one, a little spitfire- so she is loving school and all the new friends and activities that come with it. I also returned to school with a new set of classes and an English Lit class that is particularly difficult in course load and requirements.

In October I traveled to North Carolina for two reasons: 1. my high school ten year reunion and 2. my dad's 50th birthday. To the right is a picture of me, my dad, my sister, and my brother in the frame. He's overseas right now and we took a lot of silly pictures with that framed photo of him, posted on social media, and chatted with him as if he was really there, since all of us have not been in the same place at the same time in a very long time. It sounds crazy, but it was super fun and we were able to get the entire family in on it. I'll post about that later. Originally the plan was my grandmother was planning a surprise party for my dad in Virginia (where I was born and a good portion of my extended family live) where I would "surprise" him. He had no idea I was even on the East Coast, it was something only a select few knew about. In the end he got sick the day of his party, so instead we dropped by his house later that night. Of course he was still surprised to see me walking into his living room, so mission: accomplished.

So as you can see, I have been super busy lately. However, I have not forgotten about SaMiE Designs. It is my baby. Well, my 5th baby I guess you could say. However, I have been giving the blog A LOT of thought. In the end, I have come to a few realizations. 1. I have been neglecting the blog during my busy time and need to make sure that doesn't happen again. 2. I really need to finish designing the blog to my liking and 3. SaMiE Designs is starting to go in a direction that I am not all together happy with. The world of blogging can be overwhelming and confusing, and I have been distracted by things I thought were necessary. Thus, a return to crafts, the original inspiration for the blog. Don't get me wrong, we will still have as many reviews and giveaways as I can reasonable handle. However, I miss doing crafts or sharing my experiences, thoughts, and comments in doing those things, so we will pull focus back to those things. There will be a few non-essential elements disappearing from the blog, little things that are time-consuming and not of high priority to me, the blog, or you- the readers.

I am reminded of what lies under the title of this blog, the tagline that is the mission statement of SaMiE Designs. It is a reminder, an inspiration, and a goal that should be continuously filled.
If it's crafty, green, thrifty, easy or fun, we're in.

Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Cleaners

Hey SaMiE Designs fans!

I know, it's been a long, long time since you've heard from me. I have had a busy time lately, I'll be posting about my summer and recent events soon, so be on the look out for that.

Until then, I have a great new review and giveaway for you!

I was given the opportunity to review and giveaway not one, not two, but THREE coupons for one (1) Soft Scrub Total, Soft Scrub Bleach Clean or Soft Scrub abrasive product.

Giveaway is below review.

In order to review this new line, I was sent Soft Scrub Total All Purpose with Bleach cleaner and the Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl Cleaner. (Side note: They sent me full size products to review and I am loving it!)

These new products are really amazing and will revolutionize household cleaning. They work upside down, as a foam OR a spray, tough enough to get stains out while gentle enough to use nearly anywhere, and deodorizing while they clean.

I'll be honest, I am always a little skeptical of such claims. However, when I received my "sample" of Soft Scrub Total All Purpose with Bleach cleaner, I immediately thought of two areas that would be perfect to test this product out on. One was my kitchen sink which I have clean, but have neglected to "deep-clean" for quite some time. The other was my bathroom sink, where I had recently dyed my hair to black, leaving tiny little black spots on the counter. I sprayed the product on both of these surfaces, expecting it would take a few minutes to sit, walked away for a minute to grab paper towels and a sponge and when I returned: NO STAINS! I'm not lying, in what was probably less than three minutes this cleaner had picked up these stains that my regular cleaner hadn't without scrubbing! Let's just say since then this has been my go-to product for cleaning.

Disclosure: I received two full size samples via a third party to review and giveaway Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Cleaners. However, all the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Giveaway Details: This giveaway is open to SaMiE Designs fans who are 18 and over and live in the US. It starts October 25th, 2012 and will end at 12:01 EST on November 5, 2012. I use Rafflecopter for my giveaways and I absolutely love it. The more items you complete, the more entries you can get! I do verify the winning entries, so please make sure if you check you did it that you do, it would stink to lose out :(. Also, some entries can be done every day for more entries, so don't forget to come back! Good luck!

Sleeper's Run

I was given the opportunity to review "Sleeper's Run" and being an avid reader, accepted the offer. If you enjoy action or spy books, this is definitely the book for you. It definitely has a good hook and keeps you wanting to figure out what happens. This book would be perfect for a young male, approximately 20 years of age. This storyline is constantly moving forward at a sprinting pace, full of espionage, fights, and hacking plots. Any young male would definitely enjoy this book, so keep in mind for holidays and birthday. This might even be just the type of book to inspire a young man on his way to college.  WARNING: I would not recommend for the military as there is very graphic imagery of very current war affairs in extensive detail as the main character does suffer from PTSD. Also, it is a wonder how the main character seems to know how to do anything in whatever situation he happens to be in at that moment. If this were made into a movie, think Harrison Ford. The only other set-back for women readers is the way in which the book is written. It is very factual, and there are not many attempts to make it more emotional, or to relate to the story. Don't get me wrong, it has a very interesting storyline and keeps you turning pages. Once you get the hang of the author's writing style it becomes much easier.

This book is written by Henry Mosquera, who was born in Carcas, Venezuela and went to the University of Miami in Florida. These are the two main locations for the novel, which shows in the detail of the descriptions during those scenes.  This is Henry's first novel and I think he did a smashing job. I can't imagine what his later novels will be like and I am anxious to read them! For more information on Henry Mosquera visit: http://www.thrillerwriters.org/connect/Henry%20Mosquera/

Yoga for Kids!

Teaching our children healthy lifestyle habits is very important. To overcome the increasing statistics on childhood obesity, fitness is an important aspect towards that goal. I was given the opportunity to review and giveaway Storyland Yoga from Playful Planet.

Intended for children from 3-8, Storyland Yoga provides a time to increase imagination, practice healthy habits, and spend quality time with your children. Here is a little more info about the particular product I reviewed and is up for giveaway straight from Playful Planet: Two unique stories,  “Save the Whale” and “Condor Trek” engage a child’s imagination through storytelling. “Save the Whale” and “Condor Trek” engage a child’s imagination through storytelling.  Kid’s learn yoga postures by becoming part of the story and imitating animals. Yoga is great exercise and helps to calm children giving them greater focus and increased clarity. Winner of Parent’s Choice Approved, Mom’s Choice Gold, Dr. Toy’s Best Green Product and Creative Child Magazine “Preferred Choice” in the Environmentally Friendly Category.

I really enjoyed this product, and my kids loved it too. They fit the perfect age range- four children between 3 to 8, and they all seemed to benefit in different ways. Although Bubby, who is 3, could not follow along as well as the older children, she gave it her best shot and in that, she learned to take a minute, learned healthy habits, and had fun. They even started making up their own stories and putting their own moves to it. I think this is a great product for kids and I definitely recommend it. For more information about Storyland Yoga and to purchase, visit them at: http://playfulplanet.com/store/video/storyland-yoga.html

Visit Playful Planet on Facebook- tell them SaMiE Designs sent ya! Use the rafflecopter below to enter to win a dvd or digital copy of Storyland Yoga. Good luck!
a Rafflecopter giveaway I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

WOW Gift Boxes

I was so excited when I saw that WOW Gift Boxes was looking for bloggers to review and promote their gift boxes, I was beyond excited, especially when I saw they wanted bloggers to review  The Smoothest Soda & Sweetest Treats Loaded Gift Box I knew that I had to apply immediately. To let you know, as a teenager and into my early adulthood Dr. Pepper was my favorite drink. It's still a great treat, but now that I am more educated about health and wellness, I get to enjoy it in much lower quantities.

It arrived so quickly, I was surprised and overjoyed. I immediately threw the sodas in my fridge and opened the bag of Jelly Belly's, throwing a few into my mouth. This gift box is definitely a sweet filled box, so it took a while to get through all the contents. I think this is a great thing, because should you send flowers as a gift they don't last nearly as long. And I wouldn't recommend eating the next bouquet sent your way either.

WOW Gift Boxes was created by Michael Hodge, a 21-year-old entrepreneur who is focused on making a positive change in the world today. For every box bought this summer, at least one can of food will be donated to local food banks. For the gift box I received, The Smoothest Soda & Sweetest Treats Loaded Gift Box, if you purchased it now, 5 cans will be donated!

As an additional treat (pun intended) the following code can be used at checkout for a great discount:

"THANKS15"

Check out their great selections for Father's Day!

Don't forget to like them on Facebook. Tell them SaMiE Designs sent ya!

Thanks again to Michael Hodge and WOW Gift Boxes for letting me review this great gift item!

Go Broke, Die Rich

I love reading, and when I found the opportunity to read, review, and giveaway a book about entrepreneurs, I jumped at the chance. Through Business 2 Blogger I was sent an autographed copy of "Go Broke, Die Rich" by William Manchee. William Manchee has helped business owners for over thirty-five years, and shares their stories (with names changed) in this book. He explains why they failed, and how you can avoid those circumstances yourself, or how to get out of it without losing your shirt.

I thought this book was great and would suggest it to any aspiring entrepreneur, or anyone who has already established a business-new or old, big or small. Hindsight may be 20/20, but wouldn't it be nice to have a little foresight into possibilities when operating a business. This book does not guarantee success, in fact Manchee mentions quite a few times that you can learn and rebuild after failure. The facts in this book are startling, informative, and delivered in such a way that I, without any legal training, have a more clear understanding of bankruptcy laws, methods, and loopholes.

William Manchee was born in Southern California, then later in life relocated to North Dallas, where he opened his own law practice, where his son Jim now also works. In 1995, Manchee wrote his first book as a release from the stress of his law office. Since then he has written a total of 15 books and has aspirations to write one book a year. He is known best for his Stan Turner mysteries and the Tarizon Trilogy. You can read more about William Manchee and his works, you can visit his website at : http://williammanchee.com/home.html

I'm pleased to announce that I am able to offer one copy of "Go Broke, Die Rich" by William Manchee to one lucky SaMiE Designs reader! Use the rafflecopter below for your chance to win!

Making Your Own Laundry Detergent!

With six people living under one roof, laundry adds up, quick. Lots of laundry detergent means that the money also adds up quick. I was amazed at the idea of making your own laundry detergent for pennies per load and immediately put the task on my "to-do" list.

I found The Duggar Family Recipe of Laundry Soap  through Pinterest. Immediately I began searching for the products to make it. I couldn't find them at the local small grocery store or the local chain supermarket. Instead I found them at my local Whole Foods store. Occasionally I would find one or two of the items, but the local Whole Food store had all three. And right next to each other. I actually hugged the attendant who helped me to the aisle because I was so happy. What were the three ingredients I was so eager to find? Borax, Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda, and a Fels-Naptha bar.

For your quick viewing pleasure, here is the recipe from the Duggar's website:
4  Cups - hot tap water

1  Fels-Naptha soap bar

½ Cup Borax

Step 1.
Step 2.

And here are the directions to make your own laundry detergent:

Step 1. Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.
Step 2. Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.
Step 3. Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)

You can add in some scents if you like, but I wanted to try a pure and simple recipe, so mine is just the basic. This recipe was super easy and super cheap. Originally I had kept milk gallons to fill them up with the detergent, but I figured this was anything but a space saver. So I have kept the detergent in the five gallon bucket and add it to an old detergent container I happened to have on hand. It has been very convenient for us. We will definitely be making more when we run out- no idea when that will be!

As far as to how well it works? I think it works just as good as any other detergent we've used. It gets out stains-and get things clean. And best of all-we haven't had to buy detergent in a long, long time. It's great. If you get a chance, I urge you to make your own stash.  Or you can buy ours- in stores Fall 2012. Only kidding- but check out this swanky picture!

Happy Mixing

Project Playsmart

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Mom Blog Society Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I'm always on the lookout for new toys and games for the little ones so I was elated to be chosen to review Project Playsmart.  Project Play Smart helps parents discover high quality, educational toys for their kids.  Join for free and receive a weekly email of spotlighted products, many at discounts up to 50% off retail. I was given the opportunity to pick my own game/toy to review and when I saw The Magic Labyrinth Board Game I knew that was the perfect game for my kids.

Approximately one week after ordering The Magic Labyrinth, it appeared in our mailbox. We all couldn't wait to play. Mr. E (with his new mohawk), Fingers, and Stinky joined me and we played it for the first time. Then we played again. And again. And they ask me every day to play again. The game was amazing and I wouldn't have found it if it weren't for Project Playsmart.

Each week Project Playsmart features new toys and games, all with an education base. Don't spend another moment roaming the aisles of games and toys plastered with licensed characters. The focus with those games is less on education and building skills and more on putting big bucks into big companies.

You can also earn and redeem credits to purchase more toys and games using the Project Playsmart referral program. A customized url is created for your account, and you can post links to your facebook and twitter accounts. For each person you refer that makes a purchase you will receive $5 in credit towards your future purchases.

Project Playsmart is revolutionizing the way we think about toys and playing games with our children. I know by now you are excited to check out Project Playsmart for yourself. Head on over to their website and set up an account. There's no obligation to buy- although you will find the toys and games too good to pass up!

Don't forget to visit Project Playsmart on Facebook and Twitter. Tell them SaMiE Designs sent ya!

Get your Waxelene on!

If you've noticed the tagline for SaMiE Designs, you'll notice it says: If it's crafty, green, thrifty, easy or fun, we're in. Living green is so important, we listed in second! So it's no surprise that I am excited to be offering a great new review and giveaway of a great, all-natural product. Waxelene, an all-natural petroleum jelly alternative, is made from only four products, and they're all pronounceable!

Waxelene is made from organic soybean oil, 100% natural beeswax, organic rosemary oil, and 100% natural vitamin E oil. Waxelene has so many uses, it's almost a one-stop beauty product. Some of the many uses include: soothing and moisturizing dry skin, smoothing out chapped lips, relieving diaper irritation, preventing stains around the hairline during at-home dye jobs, and even reducing the appearance of split and dead ends.

I really enjoyed using this product. One of my big tests of quality was using the Waxelene during my roller derby practices with the Jackson Hole Juggernauts. I had been having a tough time with my lips drying during practice and dabbing a little bit of Waxelene of my lips beforehand worked like a charm! I also used Waxelene on patches of dry skin, and it left my skin feeling silky and smooth. I am anxious to try it the next time I dye my hair too!

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I am able to offer, via Waxelene and Mom Blog Society, a giveaway for a 2 oz. jar of Waxelene. Use the rafflecopter below to enter this giveaway. While you're at it, visit Waxelene on their website, https://waxelene.com/ , Facebook, or Twitter. Tell them SaMiE Designs sent ya!

Grow a TREE from Jewelry!

Arbor Day is April 27th, 2012 and what better way to celebrate the day with your family than to plant a tree? As luck would have it I was approved to do a review AND a giveaway for a really amazing company, Future Oxygen, a Michigan based company started to showcase eco-friendly works of art. Future Oxygen carries bracelets, necklaces, and even keychains that ALL transform into plants and trees! I was so excited for this review and giveaway because I LOVE the idea of being GREEN and giving back to our planet!

As part of this review I received a bracelet that will become a white pine tree when planted and a necklace that grows into wildflowers! We will be planting ours as a family on Arbor Day, only three weeks away!

Wondering how a bracelet can grow into a tree? The beads, which have attractive designs on the outside, are made from non-toxic biodegradable pulps and clays and are finished with a non-toxic coating for a water resistant barrier. Inside the bead are seeds for a white pine tree (other pendants carry different seeds too)! Each bead is tied onto a 9" adjustable hemp yarn cord, for softness against the skin.  You can wear your jewelry (away from hot-tubs, pools, and in the shower) for as long as you want, then when you are ready to plant your seeds, you soak the pendant in water for 24 hours then plant in a pot, keeping moist until it begins to sprout.

Another thing I am super-excited about: the compostable packaging! Talk about a zero-waste product!

Future Oxygen has also just recently started their Smile Exchange program, dedicated to bringing smiles back to children faced with deployment, illness, and loss of a family member. For every pendant bought on their site, they will donate one to a charitable organization, such as the Ronald McDonald house, Operation Military Kids, etc. A great gift for a great cause!

Future Oxygen also does school fundraisers!

I really love this concept and will definitely be purchasing more in the future as gifts for family and friends. I urge you to check them out on their website, http://www.futureoxygen.us/ , on Facebook, and on Twitter. Tell them SaMiE Designs sent ya!

Future Oxygen was so gracious enough to also provide for a giveaway, which you can enter to win using the Rafflecopter below. Please make sure to complete the tasks before pressing enter!

Much love and good luck to you!

Peace~
Sara of SaMiE Designs

Wholesale Keychains Review and GIVEAWAY

I was pretty excited when I heard about the opportunity to review keychains from WholesaleKeychain.com. I was given the choice of any two keychains to review, so I picked the two that I believe SaMiE fans would be most interested in hearing about: the Digital Photo Keychain and the Keyring Flash Drive. I was able to get both engraved and I chose the same for both:

Gotta love the Shameless Self-Promotion, eh?

The first keychain I chose was the Digital Photo Keychain, because ALL moms love showing pictures of their little ones, and how handy to have them available 24/7!! The keychain comes with a stand and USB cord. When you plug in the keychain to your computer a little software program comes up. It helps you search for images available on your computer. You then can zoom in, rotate, and crop photos so you can choose exactly what will appear on the keychain. You can upload up to 100 photos to the Digital Photo Keychain and you can delete some and add more.
When you unplug the Digital Photo Keychain you can change display options, such as on/off for slide show, how long each picture displays, automatic shut-off, etc. I really was very pleased with this product, the ease of use, simple design, and wonderful benefits! You can purchase one on their website or try to win your own below using the Rafflecopter!

The second Keychain I chose to review was the Keyring Flash Drive. As someone who works on many computers for the same project, I found this keyring to be of extreme interest.Once received I immediately starting using it, sometimes just for one file, sometimes for entire projects. I can't tell you how easy the Keyring Flash Drive has made my life, no more emailing files, sighing because you forgot to send them, or just going without. This is an easy, no-frill, sophiscated device to keep it all together for you. If you find yourself emailing files to yourself more than once a month, I urge you to check out the Keyring Flash Drive for yourself, or try winning one using the Rafflecopter below.

In addition to being able to review keychains from WholesaleKeychain.com I am able to offer one specialty keychain to one of my SaMiE Designs fans! Use the Rafflecopter below to enter! If you win you have a wide variety of keychains to choose from. We LOVE the possibilites at WholesaleKeychain! Here are more of our favorites, but what will YOU choose?

or  or  ??

Disclaimer: To perform this review and giveaway I received items at no-cost. This however does not affect my review as I only recommend products/items/services that I truly believe in.

Pambra's Don't Sweat it Absorb it!!

I was very excited to be selected as a blogger to review and giveaway Pambra's Original Bra Liner! As a woman with more "luggage" in that area I have experienced what many women with the same issue face- uncomfortable bras, pinching underwire, and perspiration that seeps through to a nice shirt! Thankfully Pambra's has designed the perfect solution: Bra and Tummy liners!

I received my samples the day before I headed out to a Women's Leadership Conference and I think the timing couldn't have been better! I was able to test out the Bra Liners during the conference where I spent two entire days sitting in chairs listening to different speakers. Pambra's bra liner made the days bearable for me, never having to adjust my bra or change outfits once!

Then I was able to test out Pambra's Bra Liner once again at my Roller Derby practice with the Jackson Hole Juggernauts. Roller Derby is a full contact sport and practice is definitely one to make you sweat. Yet surprisingly when I took off my pads I no sweat around the chest area- a vast difference to other areas of my body!

I can't get enough Kudos to Pambra's for their innovative design and I strongly encourage you to check out their website at http://pambras.com/ , like them on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter.

Here's a video that shows you how to use Pambra's (it's a snap!):

In addition to being able to test the Pambra's Bra Liner, I am able to give out a prize pack as well! Use the Rafflecopter below to be entered to win!

March Kidtoons Giveaway: The Gruffalo

I am super excited to be able to offer my second giveaway via Kidtoon Films. For the month of March Kidtoons will be showing THE GRUFFALO in theaters all around the U.S. Kidtoons is a great company that offers family-friendly movies each month, coloring contests each week, and a prize pack to coordinating with the movies each month.

I really love Kidtoons Films and I encourage you to check out their website at http://www.kidtoonfilms.com/ and find out where The Gruffalo is playing near you!

One great advantage is Dr. Donna's reviews, viewable on the Kidtoon Films website. Dr. Donna details what children will learn in each film, as well as what parents can expect, so there are no surprises.

THE GRUFFALO:
Based on the picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, The Gruffalo is an Academy Award nominated short with an all-star cast, starring Helena Bonham Carter, James Corden, Tom Wilkinson, Jon Hurt, Rob Brydon and Robbie Coltrane. The Gruffalo is a magically tale of a mouse who takes a walk through the woods in search of a nut. Encountering three predators (a fox, an owl and a snake) who all wish to eat him - the plucky mouse outwits them all by announcing he is meeting a monster with terrible features, called a ‘Gruffalo.’ As each predator cowers away, the Mouse grows increasingly confident as he makes his way through the woods, until he rounds a corner and comes face to face with the extraordinary product of his imagination: The Gruffalo.

Watch a preview below:

Fit Moms for Life Review & GIVEAWAY!!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Mom Blog Society. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

It happens to all moms, I believe. You're living your day to day then one day you wake up to discover your favorite jeans don't fit. Then you try on another pair. They don't fit either. You go through your entire closet and then it hits you, "What happened to my body?" "When did I gain all this weight?" "How am I going to lose it?"
Having had four children, this has happened to me more than once. The latest experience was only a few months ago. In the past year I have changed jobs to a desk job, had surgery, and quit smoking: all experiences where weight gain is a major after-effect. When I finally got to the point of no clothes fitting me I looked in the mirror and gasped: I had gained FORTY pounds in the past year!

I was so excited to be chosen to review Fit Moms for Life, it came at just the right time for me! I quickly unraveled the package when it arrived in the mail and immediately began thumbing through it. I can't lie, I was skeptical that a MAN would write a book for WOMEN, much less for MOMS. However Dustin seems to fully understand moms and their desire to lose weight, as well as the obstacles they face in the average day to day life.

What I really loved is that this isn't another diet or workout plan, which is ultimately setting me up to fail. This is about changing your mind, changing your outlook, ultimately changing your life. You can't get this book thinking it's a magical cure, because it isn't. You have to be ready to change, and willing to put in the hard work to see the results.

This book is a great place for those who are willing to make the change in their lives for a healthier self, a healthier family, and a sustainable program. I am so excited to be able to offer one of these books (with its free exclusive content) to one of SaMiE Designs fabulous readers! Read below for more information!

Single Moms

For years I have faced up-hill struggles as a single mom. Each day there is a new barrier, a new battle to fight. I have to prove that I am not the stereotype that a few unfortunate single moms have set on the rest of us. The fact that I have been a mom since I was 18 does not help matters. No matter my IQ, college credit, or skills I have been judged by my circumstances. I think that some people truly believe that I chose to be a single mom, or that it is somehow, my fault. I really wish they would think about that more clearly. The ones who work hard every day are not the villains, they are the heroes. It is to that thought that I thought I would mess around with all those job description posts that have been making their way all over the internet. Here for your enjoyment is one on Single Moms.

And if you're a single mom, girl you rock and don't ever forget it!
